Oregon Day 1

Our first full day on the Oregon coast had us waking up to rain and low temps.  We took advantage of that and slept in.  Then we cooked a big breakfast under the cover of our awning and finally the rain let up.  We went for a bike ride around the park that was a big loop from our campground, over to the bay and back.  It was a beautiful ride through the forrest for a lot of the time.  The kids played on the bay for awhile and we had a small plane fly right over us as it landed on the airstrip right behind us...a little scary!  We explored more on our bikes then went back to camp for lunch.

Then us girls went for a horseback ride on the ocean.  It was a great ride and Megan especially was in heaven on her horse.  We went over the sand dunes and then to the ocean side and then back over the dunes to the bay.  We saw a couple of bald eagles on our ride which was so amazing!
Megan just loves her horses!  This one is Pinkie.  Beautiful ocean ride!
The boys had their own adventure and went on a bike ride into the town near us called Manzanita.  They explored a bit and took in some ice cream.  We met up again and then headed down to the beach.  The girls actually got in the ocean and built sand castles, Tim took a long walk along the beach and Noah and I froze...even though we were the most bundled up1

The evening brought us some relaxing at the campsite and a visit from a couple of deers when we were having a campfire.   This part of the Oregon coast is rugged and quiet but gorgeous. Tomorrow we head to cannon beach for the day.
