Big Sur Day 2

Pfeiffer Falls
Hiking at our campground
Valley view trail
Playing in the river at our campsite

It was a nice day here at Pfeiffer State Park in Big Sur.  We slept in a bit and had a big breakfast.  Then we headed out for a hike to a waterfall near our campground.  Now, our campground is really big so just getting to the hike was over a mile walk.  But it is still nice as this campground is teeming with wildlife including Stellar Jays, squirrels and we even saw a mama deer and her 2 babies....and this was just in our campground!  The hike was nice, very big trees and all uphill.  At the end it was Pfeiffer falls which was a nice little waterfall.  We headed back down and made a detour to the Valley View trail.  We headed back to camp, had lunch and then it was down to the river at our campsite for a few hours.  Leah got cold quickly but Megan and Noah really stuck it out and had fun skipping rocks, splashing around in the water and exploring. I enjoyed a book by the river and Tim, a nap. Noah had fun snapping pictures of Megan...he is quite the photographer!  After that it was time for dinner, campfire with smores and an early bed!  We are making the 30 mile drive North to Monterey tomorrow to visit the aquarium and hang out with Tims sister and nephew.  It has been a fun and relaxing day....much needed!
