Sedona Trip- Day 4

Monday- June 14th
Today we have to leave! Kind of sad but excited to get home too... we have a house project to get home to. So this morning Chris made a wonderful breakfast of french toast, eggs and bacon and then it was all about packing up and heading off. The kids were sad to leave their friends but promised to play tomorrow when they get home. We were on the road by 9:45 but hope to see LoloMai again some day... when our adventures bring us back!

Sedona Trip- Day 3

June 13th- Sunday
Today we left camp early for a hike. We went to Red Rock State Park just a few miles up the road. Tim and I have been there several times and they totally changed it! I promised an easy hike along Oak Creek with a chance to swim in the creek at the end but it turned into a mountain hike crossing the creek a couple of times. Seems like they changed it around to preserve the creek and not have any swimming or hiking around it. Kind of a bummer but we made the best of it and hiked about 3 miles! We worked up an appetite and went to the Sedona Airport for breakfast. That place is a hidden gem... every person cleared their plate and enjoyed their meal and also loved watching the planes take off. I love that place. After that it was back to camp for a little nap after that meal. Well, a nap for Mommy and Daddy and the kids stayed outside and played with their friends and went to the pool again . Leah and I went to the creek again, then more games, more laying around, bike rides and walks then dinner time. I made chicken satay for everyone followed by ice cream pie. Our last night... sad :( We sat around at the campfire for awhile then it was off to bed. I love tucking my kids in bed when we are camping, they are so tired but happy!

Sedona Trip- Day 2

June 12th- Saturday
I love waking up to the sun and the birds but this morning I got to wake up to bug bites... tons of them. I have never had so many mosquito bites... don't know when I got them, last night, in bed, not sure but all I know is they hurt and itch so bad! I promise I will use my spray from now on! Anyhow, for our day we started out with a good breakfast and then off to Oak Creek for some wading around. It turned into a little more like swimming for the kids. They loved being in the water and thought the current was fun. It was great watching them with their friends. We then went to the pool for a swim. And then back to camp for relaxing which consists of reading, sitting around and playing games. Of course the occasional walk to the duck pond and a bike ride. What fun! We had a great dinner of steak kabobs and then came the campfire. It was family campfire with lots of fun! We told stories and jokes and read from this book called Coke or Pepsi which is a get to know you game basically. We had the smores and then off to bed!

Sedona Trip- Day 1

June 11th
Today we left for LoloMai Springs which is a campsite in west Sedona near Cottonwood. We are meeting our friends and neighbors up there for the weekend. We got a late start because Daddy was having some car issues so we left around 3:00... we were supposed to leave at 12:00. Do you know how hard it is to entertain 3 kids who are just dying to leave.... right now!! Well I did it and kept my sanity too and off we went. I was in charge of dinner and about 45 minutes into the drive I realized I forgot the hamburgers for tonight! I was calculating the cost of stopping at McDonalds versus the cost of stopping for the meat and buying the meat won. So we stopped in Anthem for the meat and turned it into a nearly 3 hour drive... but we made it! It was a quick set up and then we were making dinner right away. Then it was off to bed!
